Dr. Mercedes Rios-Young earned her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine in Seattle, Washington from Bastyr University, the leading accredited academic and research institution of natural health. In addition to her required coursework and clinical education, Dr. Rios-Young worked with numerous prominent naturopathic physicians and midwives in western Washington. Dr. Rios-Young also spent time working at several community clinics around Seattle, WA that provide care to underserved populations.

Dr. Rios-Young practices as a naturopathic specialist with a focus on general family medicine. Although she sees patients in all stages of life from newborn to elderly, she primarily works with women and children. Dr. Rios-Young has extensive training in pregnancy care and childbirth. While her main focus is on family medicine, she continues to keep one foot in the wonderful world of childbirth by helping mothers in labor as a Doula.

She enjoys taking the time to provide truly individualized and holistic care to her patients. She believes that educating her patients is extremely important because it allows them to be aware and in control of their own health. Her goal is to empower her patients to achieve their highest level of wellness by creating balance in their health and overall lives.

Dr. Rios-Young is the Secretary of the Virginia Association of Naturopathic Physicians and a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
